Australian Visas
Australian visas vary depending on the duration and purpose of your visit. Anyone travelling to Australia requires a visa to enter (except New Zealanders). The 3 visas most commonly applied for are the: short stay tourist/business visa, long stay tourist visa and the Australian working holiday visa. For each visa, the application process varies, as do the entry requirements.

In 1999 The Australian Government introduced an electronic visa application system for short stay tourist visas and short stay business visas. This means that when you apply for an Australian tourist visa it is no longer necessary to spend hours queuing up inside an Australian Consulate or Embassy to receive your visa label in your passport. It usually takes around 24 hours to process your tourist visa application, once processed you will receive an email confirming your visa has been issued. Postal confirmation of your successful visa application will also be posted out to you if required, for piece of mind as tourist visas are invisible.

Australian Working Holiday Visas

An Australian working holiday visa application is a quick way of gaining the required visa to allow young people aged over 18 but not yet 31 years old to work and travel around Australia for 12 months. Your working holiday visa application can usually be processed within 48 hours however; it can take slightly longer during busy periods. The number of working holiday visas issued each year is restricted by the Australian Government, so it's better to make your working holiday visa application early as you have 12 months to enter Australia from the day your visa is issued
